One Month to Go!!

Greetings!

Well we have arrived at the one month left part.  On Tuesday, I will be 36 weeks along!  I cannot believe it has gone by this quickly.  We have kept ourselves busy this summer that is for sure.  Here are a few things we have been doing.  On June 19, we attended our best friend's wedding.  It was a hot summer day for an outdoor wedding, but it didn't keep me from dancing until about 12:30 in the morning.  You will notice that I am not posting pictures of my feet!  (This is me at about 33 weeks pregnant!)

The following weekend we participated in Relay for Life with some of Dave's coworkers.  We chose to walk the 2-4 am shift hoping it would be a bit cooler than any other time throughout the day.  It wasn't.  I am proud to say however that I did walk the entire time, except for the occasional and much needed restroom breaks!  Again, no pictures of my feet!  This is Dave at 2am (left) and 4am (right)...

The next day, Cathy's daughter was baptized and I am so lucky I get to be her godmother.  However, we have no pictures from that day, so I will share the one I do have!  Clara was born in late April so we feel pretty confident that our daughter already has a best friend waiting for her.

The beginning of July took me back to the suburbs for one last visit before Baby G comes along.  My great uncle is a missionary priest in Australia but was home to celebrate his 50th year in the ministry.  A special mass was held and small party afterwards.

However, even though their grandfather was singing, some people didn't care to listen:

Finally, Dave and I took a little "babymoon" and got away for a couple of days before she arrives.  We spent three days in Galena, doing nothing but walking around, relaxing and eating some excellent food.  It was nice to just get away for a little bit because we are sure that she will be here before we know it.

We ate at Fried Green Tomatoes, which we would highly recommend to anyone who happens to visit Galena or even be in the vicinity!

As for now, we are finishing up decorating her room and getting everything settled.  We have taken baby classes at the hospital and my husband will be a pro at bathing and changing diapers!  I will begin my weekly doctor appointments this Thursday.  Last time we were at the doctor's office, she had said that her head was down so we were in good shape.  Here are the belly pics from this posting...one side view and one front view!  Love from Bloomington!

Round 2 of Baby Showers....

This past weekend I was very lucky to have another baby shower thrown by my best friend, Cathy.  I do not have a lot of pictures from this event but she did an amazing job!  I think that our little girl is going to be pretty well taken care of for awhile!  Here are some pictures from the shower.

My camera got stolen, but it is a good thing that the bandit is pretty cute!

Cathy made vases of "flowers" that were part artificial flowers and part onesies, washcloths and burp cloths!

The favors were handmade magnets that said love, imagine and grin.  Also made by Cathy... it helps when you are an artist and awesome when you are her best friend!! :)

Cathy also made these adorable pictures that were tied along the railing outside of our house and on the railing in our living room.  We are planning to frame them and use the artwork as decoration in the nursery!
And of course there were cupcakes!

And finally the diaper cake, also filled with onesies, washcloths and burp cloths!

I feel pretty lucky to have surrounded myself with some really thoughtful friends and I am so thankful to all of them for coming to the shower and for all the adorable and useful gifts!!

I have promised you nursery updates for awhile now and I have included some pictures for you to see.  You will notice that the middle of the floor is not included in any of the pictures.  It is currently covered with more shower gifts and we are not sure what to do with them exactly... Once we get the walls completely decorated, a dresser and a rocking chair in the room, I will put up more pictures!  Enjoy!

Changing table baskets (already filled) that my mom and I lined and added ribbon to.

My first real attempt at doing something creative!

And finally, her closet.... I think she will be ok for awhile.  I will feel much better when the dresser comes and I can make it a bit more organized in there for her!

We are currently 32 weeks along and getting more and more excited every single day.  The more baby things that come into the house, the more excited Dave and I both get!  We cannot believe that she will be here quite possibly in 6 weeks!!  This time has really gone by quickly!

Love from Bloomington!

Bubbles and Rubber Duckies!

This past weekend sure was a busy one!  Here is the rundown:

Friday:
Dave and I went in for our final ultrasound.  I cannot believe that we have already reached that point, but it sure is exciting!  Of course, she was only partially cooperative, leaving her arms and hands in front of her face for most of the time.  However, they have pushed up our due date now to August 11!  From the ultrasound they can tell that she has some hair and that she should be about 7 and 1/2 pounds at birth.  Sounds great to me!  Here I am at 31 weeks:

Saturday:
We headed on up to Chicago for the baby shower thrown by my sisters and my mom.  We stopped at IKEA (of course!) and picked up some shelves for her room.  After celebrating an early Father's Day with my dad since we will not see him on the holiday, it was off to bed for this tired pregnant lady!

Sunday:
My sisters did a fantastic job and went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for in terms of a baby shower!  Every little detail was considered and was adorable!  I was so happy to see so much of my family and some friends I haven't seen in a long time!  We were very lucky and received some much needed gifts for Baby G including our stroller, highchair, pack n play and so much more!  This girl is set for a while on clothes I think!

This is the room that they held the shower in.  I would highly recommend Westwood Tavern!  They were awesome!

The theme of the shower was Bath Time!  There were ducks, "bubbles" and bath time supplies everywhere!

My very talented godmother made all of the thank you notes, by hand!  I can't wait until our daughter gets here so I can begin putting her in adorable things like this robe!

My sisters and mom made all of the favors which were washcloths wrapped up with hand sanitizer and lotions!

Other really cute details included the diaper cake and the duck cake- both made by Robyn and Ashley!  The duck was adorable floating in chocolate cupcake "water" and surrounded by white bubbles!

We received a lot of great gifts, but I have to include Ashley's gift of the stroller since it was the only one left in Illinois.  Apparently, they are discontinuing this pattern!

Then of course there was the baby food eating game!  Neither Jenene nor I appeared to enjoy it very much!

Overall, it was an incredible day and I am so thankful for everyone who made it out to celebrate with us!  We cannot believe that we are only about 8 weeks away!!

And finally, Ashley being silly...

Much Going On!

Greetings family and friends!  Here is the update on the growing Glacinski family:

We are currently still working on the nursery.  And by we, I of course mean my husband!  He has kept me out of the room and has been working really hard to get it completed.  A couple weeks ago, my dad and our friend Michael came by to help with some minor construction.  The wainscoting is almost finished being painted (which has turned out to be a pretty long process).

Also, this past week my students and some of their wonderful parents threw me a surprise baby shower at work!  The kids did a pretty good job keeping it a secret, especially since the shower has been a work in progress for the past two weeks!  That is a long time for 8 and 9 year olds to keep quiet.  My parents even managed to get Dave to the shower without me knowing!  Pretty sneaky!

Some of the students brought gifts.  We got some cute clothes, blankets and a piggy bank.  As a class gift, the students each brought in a book and wrote messages to Baby G in the inside cover.  It was pretty cute!  One book we got is called Daddy's Girl and it is addressed to Baby G- from one daddy's girl to another!  How could you not love that??  We even had pink frosted baby feet cookies!  They were much more delicious than that makes them seem!

Finally, I am currently 28 weeks along which means that I am officially at the start of my third trimester.  I cannot believe we are already this far along.  She is moving like crazy (especially at 4am!) and the movements are becoming more predictable.  Dave can feel her now quite frequently.  I went for my final monthly doctor's appointment this past week as well and the baby's heartbeat is about 140 and nice and strong.  I will start going now every two weeks, which combined with school getting out this week, I feel like she will be here before we know it!

Moving on out...the belly that is!

It has been a month now since the last post and as quickly as things have begun changing, I feel like I will actually have a reason to update more frequently.  Today we had our 24 week check-up.  Baby girl and I are doing fantastic!  She is still a bit of a squirmer so we had to have another ultrasound done today.  I have put up a few pictures from the ultrasound.  As you can see, she is quite flexible and made it very difficult at times to check her heart, lips, kidneys and liver!  Thankfully, everything looks excellent and she is about 1 pound 2 ounces.  In addition to being flexible, she is a mover!  I have been feeling her move around now for the last few weeks.  I can't wait for Dave to be able to feel her too!

Within the last month, I have definitely started showing!  It has been really nice to look and feel pregnant.  I am still feeling great and have a lot of energy.  This weekend we plan to put that energy to good use and paint the nursery.  I will be sure to post pictures as that project continues!

This past weekend we celebrated my grandma's 90th birthday!  She still looks pretty fantastic!  It was nice to be home and see the family.
