Busy Baby

Summer is underway at our house and since it began a couple weeks ago, there has rarely been a dull moment.  Avery is teething right now and so she has been a bit miserable lately.  We are trying everything we can to keep her happy and content for as long as possible.  However, when she is not miserable, we are busy doing a lot of things.

Every morning begins this way.  Everything comes out, and then for some reason, mommy or daddy puts it all away by the end of the night!  Silly parents, when will they learn?

Then, we have gone and watched daddy play softball with his work team!  Avery even got her very own jersey to wear!

Last weekend, we went to our little downtown area and played in the water in our roundabout!  Avery was not to sure about this until we showed her that she could splash in the water!

Other days we just hang out outside in our backyard or play on the swings!

Yesterday, Avery and mommy went to the Miller Park Zoo and spent the morning looking at all the animals.  Avery was a bit unsure for most of the visit, except for the parrot.  Every time the parrot squawked, Avery yelled right back.  It was very funny.

Finally, Avery's friend Lola has come to visit a few times.  They spend a lot of time doing this!!

And She's Off!!!

Avery has officially begun crawling!  It seems like we have been trying to get her to crawl for a couple months now.  Even my friends at work were trying to teach her...

But, every time, she would collapse to the floor and cry.  Then out of the blue last Saturday, she just started crawling.  Here is video proof of her moving Sunday morning!

Now that she has begun moving, everything has changed.  Last week I could put her on the floor in the kitchen and she would play while I was cooking and now she is gone within a minute!

We also have a few other tricks now.  For example, Avery has discovered that she has control over her tongue and loves to play with it.  Enjoy!

And finally, thanks to Thayre and the baby-sitting kids, Avery can play the "Sooooo Big" game.  Sometimes she just throws her hands up and waits for us to say "Soooo Big!"

Last weekend Avery got to meet her Great Aunt Jan and Uncle Rich and some of Dave's cousins.  Avery definitely has a new buddy!

Other than that, I am officially on summer vacation and looking forward to being a stay at home mommy for awhile.  Avery is too and woke me up at 6:15 this morning and then proceeded to start taking apart my kitchen.

We are going to visit friends, family, the zoo, the Discovery Museum, splash pads, the pool (in our backyard, thanks to Grandma and Papa C!) and plenty more.  First up for the summer, some planting in our backyard!  I will get pictures up of that soon!  Until then, here are a couple more!

Ready for her soccer days!

Avery and Daddy love playing soccer together.  Sometimes it is hard to tell who enjoys it more!
