Spring Has Sprung!

I am really behind on this posting, so sit back and enjoy the photos of our last 2 weeks or so!

First, Avery turned 9 months old on May 5 (also her Auntie Robyn's birthday).  It is a bit more difficult to get  her monthly pictures taken now that she is on the move!!  So, this is a timeline of how the "photo shoot" went!

"Okay, I think I can smile for mama!"

"Oh my goodness!!  My toes!!"

"Time to move!"

"Oh, hey guys!"

"My teddy bear!"

"Just a little wave"

Are we done yet? Glad she stuck her tongue out though!

Now that Avery is 9 months old, she is doing many new things!

  • She has found her tongue and enjoys sticking it out, letting mommy "get it", licking her lips and just about any object nearby.
  • She is showing signs of wanting to crawl, but after a few seconds on all fours, she collapses.
  • Rather than crawling, she likes to turn herself around or scoot.  Just tonight, she began scooting herself backwards.
  • Her favorite thing now thought is pulling herself up to stand in front of anything and hold on.  When she is in her crib, she can actually creep along the entire long side.  Time to lower it we are being told!
  • She can rattle off a number of sounds like, "da-da", "ba-ba", "ra-ra", "pa-pa", screams, squeals and other funny noises with her lips.  She knew how to say mama, but once learning da-da, mama was out the window!!

I love their faces in this picture!  Not quite steady yet!
Also this month, I celebrated my first Mother's Day!  I was lucky enough to host it.  My parents, Robyn and her family, a surprise visit from Ashley and Dave's dad joined us.  Unfortunately, Grandma Ronnie was not feeling well.  :(  I was really excited because I had found some cute ideas on how to set the table using scrapbook paper for placemats and other springy details!

Nice smile Avery!

Mama and her girls
You have no idea how hard it was to get this picture!

Later that night, we went and played at the park with Auntie Ashley.

Our future rock climber!

After our doctor visit, Avery is up to 3 meals a day and we are to add in some snacks.  So, we have begun giving Avery graham crackers.  We have also begun allowing her to "feed" herself.  It seems to be going well, right?

Finally, in case I haven't mentioned this before, Avery loves the park!  Her favorite thing to do, other than stare at all the kids, envious of their ability to walk and run, is swinging!  I think she would swing all day if I let her!  This past week after celebrating Grandma Ronnie's birthday, we went to the park for a little play time.

Like I said above, Avery loves putting things in her mouth and she loves standing.  When you put those two together, this is usually what we get...

Avery's nine month pictures are up in our gallery!  Here is the link to the photographer's blog... be sure to stop by and leave a comment!
